Hey there, I'm Hang, currently a Software Engineer at Garnter.

When not trying to find a bug or bugs that crash my program, I enjoy learning about engineering, taking photos of landscapes/cityscapes and stars, brewing coffee and detailing my car.

    Yes, I quit my job on April Fools' Day.

  4. Got My Apollo Certified Graph Developer - Associate Certification

    I wanted to learn more about GraphQL, specifically with the Apollo Graph Platform. Therefore, I took the Apollo Odyssey courses that offers free hands-on GraphQL tutorials.

    I'm building this portfolio/blog to publish and save things that people wouldn't see on my resume or LinkedIn. I'm using GraphQL, Next.JS, Contentful and Tailwind CSS to build this site. I think this is Jamstack?

  9. Got A Job As An IT Analyst

    After few months of interviews, I finally landed a IT Analyst position in a Bank located in New York City. The offer was not that great, but hey, I got a job.

  10. Got Some IT Certifications

    I was actively learning more about IT and decided to pursue some certifications. I got my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, CompTIA A+ ce Certification and CompTIA Network+ ce Certification during this period.

  11. Graduated From Stony Brook University

    After spending 3.5 year in Stony Brook University and 1.5 year in City College of New York, I finally got my Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering!

  12. Finished My Senior Design Project

    After months of researching and multiple revision, I finally completed my Senior Design Project 'Automating Online Proctoring'. It was a huge relief for me.

  13. Built My First Full Stack App

    After finishing 'Full Stack Open 2020' offered by University of Helsinki in Finland, I decided to build an application from what I learned in that course. I built a full stack social media website based off a website that was widely used by the student in Stony Brook University.

  14. Took 'Full Stack Open 2020' Online Course

    My university course load was not really heavy that semester, I decided to pick up web development again. After numerous researches, I found 'Full Stack Open 2020' Online Course offered by University of Helsinki. It was a reading and hands-on based course and that was refreshing after going through many video based courses.

  15. COVID-19 Happened

    Study from home gave me lots of free time as I no longer had to communte to school 3 days a week. I decided to pickup website development courses on Udemy. I learned more about Node.Js and class-based React at that time. I really appreaciate functional-based React now!

  16. Made My First Ever Web App

    I built a weather casting application with Darksky API and Google Geolocation API. I don't remember the motiviation behind this application, maybe it was snowing that day.
